Quint Buchholz's picture book is about a painter and a boy. The boy is drawn to Max, the painter, and spends entire days with him in the studio. However, the paintings that Max creates there are never shown to the boy. It is only when the painter goes on a long journey that he gives the boy the key to the studio. When the boy is alone there for the first time, he discovers a whole exhibition - painted just for him. And each painting tells its own unique story.
