Product details
Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837) is considered the national poet of Russia and is held in higher regard there than the more well-known Western writers Tolstoy, Gogol, Dostoevsky, or Turgenev. The poet's popularity can be attributed to the fact that he was the first to incorporate colloquial elements into his poetry, dramas, and stories, paving the way for modern literature. This volume contains seven of Pushkin's most famous tales, including "The Queen of Spades," "The Snowstorm," "The Shot," "Dubrovsky," and "The Stationmaster," which was adapted into a film in Germany under the title "The Postmaster.".
