The present second volume of the history of our publishing house differs in several ways from the first. Heinz S. Kowski has impressively explored and brought to life the nearly completely preserved correspondence of the publishing house with great historical understanding. For the period I have taken on, the correspondence is available in an inexhaustible abundance, the thorough processing of which would not only have taken many years but also impaired the immediacy of the presentation. Therefore, I preferred to start from my experiences, to describe what I have lived through, and to deepen it based on the correspondence. This is by no means only about personal experiences, but also about the personal experiences of many members of the publishing house, which I will present further below.
