The summery holiday idyll of the island of Föhr is disrupted by the horrific discovery of a murder victim in the reeds. Chief Inspector Ludwig Mommsen and his colleague Dirk Schön travel from the mainland to investigate the murder. Together with Föhr police officer Henning Lürrsen, they set out to uncover the identity of the unknown deceased. Gradually, it becomes clear that the victim, the athletic womanizer Tobias Kirchner, had many undesirable connections. A whole host of people on Föhr had reasons to wish for the victim's demise.
