Nevertheless, we assume that the world adheres to calculable natural laws – like a clock where one gear moves the next. When one embarks on a quest to uncover the scientific roots of chance, they encounter butterflies that change the course of the world with a flap of their wings, tiny particles that randomly determine their properties, and genetic mutations that steer life in new directions.
