In light of the growing interest in designed screed surfaces, which stand out from purely functional gray cement screeds through their coloring and unique design, significantly higher demands are now placed on raw materials, production, and especially on the maintenance and cleaning of such screeds. First, the regulations in the European and national screed standards are explained, focusing on raw materials, production, and installation, as well as testing of fresh and hardened screed mortar. Building on this, planning and execution guidelines for various screed constructions are provided. In addition to floating screeds, including heated screeds, the guidelines cover screeds on separation layers and bonded screeds, as well as highly stressed cement screeds that are characterized by increased requirements.
