Product details
The potential of choreography and architecture lies in the design of stages and spaces for action. In this regard, both should not be thought of as completed works, but as dynamic structures of bodies and spatiality. Kirsten Maar's study focuses on the choreographic works of William Forsythe since 2003 and contextualizes them through design processes in 20th-century architecture - from Buckminster Fuller to Cedric Price and Nikolaus Hirsch. This highlights spatial analytical processes that become operational in the boundary-crossing movements between the arts. Choreography and architecture are revealed as practices that oscillate between notation, conception, and their realization, continuously reorganizing bodies, objects, and viewers in space.
