The current proceedings of the Eickelborn conference series focus on the highly heterogeneous group of sexual offenders. This motivationally and prognostically complex form of delinquency requires particularly differentiated diagnosis, therapy, and risk assessment. This volume presents, among other things, a multidimensional model for distinguishing between inclining and perilous sexual sadism (Benecke), explores the opportunities and limitations of anti-hormonal therapy (Konrad), takes a closer look at the group of juvenile sexual murderers (Habermann), and addresses the explicit necessity of forensic diagnostics (Urbaniok and Borchard). Especially since the amendment of the law on the enforcement of measures concerning the duration of confinement in a psychiatric hospital according to Section 63 of the Penal Code, forensic psychiatry has been under scrutiny.
