This book reconstructs the development of the fundamental rules of action in German foreign policy. The focus is particularly on the continuities and breaks in the worldview and self-image of German foreign policy, as well as in the development of German Europe and global order policy. Ultimately, the reader learns which beliefs and goals significantly guide German foreign policy and to what extent the developments of the last twenty years support a finding of continuity or change.
