Since the last edition of the Dehio Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in 2000, restoration and renovation measures have often revealed insights that have now been incorporated as clarifications and content expansions into the work. This also led to the inclusion of new entries for churches, manor houses, and parks from the 18th to the 20th centuries. Additional medieval and modern sacred furnishings are also taken into account. In larger cities such as Greifswald, Stralsund, and Wismar, townhouses from the Middle Ages to the Baroque period, with recently discovered rich interior decorations, complement the volume, as do some residential buildings committed to the New Building style by prominent architects of the 1920s and 1930s. The articles on Schwerin Castle and its surrounding buildings have also been updated. Technical monuments such as water towers and lighthouses, as well as mills and granaries, a school in Sassnitz, and more have been included.
