Product details

In Giacometti's Atelier directs our gaze to one of the most influential places in 20th-century art, namely the tiny, dilapidated studio where the great sculptor lived and worked from 1926 until his death. For nearly 40 years, this chaotic yet highly creative space was the center of Alberto Giacometti's world. His studio was a magnet for an entire generation of artists and writers in Paris, from Picasso and Braque to Breton and Sartre, and even Genet and Beckett. Michael Peppiatt is an intimate connoisseur of Alberto Giacometti's life and work. Initially, the author worked in London as an art critic before moving to Paris in the late 1960s to write about art.
