In "Thinking/Organizing," his last book, Georges Perec explores the small private bureaucracies that each individual develops to gather, dissect, and make the things of the world disappear: instructions, exercises, lists, methods; pages of recipes (but only for sole, sweetbreads, and rabbit!), various ways to organize a bookshelf; reflections on the impossibility of tidying up and on the different types of physical presence while reading (in the bathroom, while traveling, during meals, in bed...) - and not least, some pages of wonderful considerations about glasses, which will henceforth be essential for anyone affected by this issue. And all of this is, as always with Perec, not only immensely stimulating but also profoundly funny and sad at the same time.
