Anne Frank's diary is both a symbol and a document. Symbol of the genocide of the Jews by the Nazi criminals and document of the life of a uniquely talented young writer. This edition is the only version of the diary authorized by the Anne Frank Fund and binding worldwide. There is a first and a second, later version of the diary, both by Anne Frank herself. She had revised the diary she had kept for more than two years at a later date because the first version no longer met her literary requirements. This edition contains the diary text revised by Anne Frank, together with the unchanged parts taken from the first version, without those omissions which Anne's father Otto Frank had made for discretion. Mirjam Pressler has a new, unaffected style for it.
