This document was created in collaboration between two diocesan working groups. The teaching units developed for the 5th grade are assigned to three learning phases that ideally reflect the progression of a 5th grade curriculum in Catholic Religious Education. The materials and considerations aim to present local religious educators with ideas, methods, and fundamental thoughts that can inspire and encourage them to develop and implement their own approaches for their religious instruction. The contributions of the author team provide an excellent opportunity to design a competence-oriented religious education program for 5th grade in secondary schools.
