Product details

This study examines whether consumers in the German-speaking region are accepting of insects as food. The findings clearly indicate that only a minority would be willing to incorporate insects into their everyday diet. In recent years, insects have gained increased attention in human nutrition even in Western countries. Numerous studies demonstrate the ecological advantages of an insect-based diet compared to meat from conventional livestock such as cattle, pigs, or chickens. There is a lack of knowledge regarding the benefits and proper preparation of insects. The insights from this study can help develop strategies to increase consumer acceptance of entomophagy in the German-speaking region.
