Product details

Edgar Reitz, who lives in Munich and was born in 1932 in Morbach in the Hunsrück region, will present his new film at the end of September 2013, a sort of continuation of the famous Heimat cycle. The film is set in the Hunsrück, in the (fictional) village of Schabbach, in the year 1840, the year when part of the village's youth decides to emigrate to Brazil. The German premiere of the film will take place in Simmern, Hunsrück, on September 28, 2013. After that, the film will be released in Germany, France, and at the Toronto Film Festival. The book will contain 220 pages and 100 film images, which are printed on both sides. It will also include a text by Edgar Reitz and dialogue excerpts from the film as image captions. The screenplay, from which the dialogue excerpts are taken, was written by Edgar Reitz together with Gerd Heidenreich. The foreword is by Michel Krüger.
