Since he began reissuing Swiss literature along with biographies as an editor at Arche Verlag 45 years ago, with titles by Friedrich Glauser and Lore Berger, Charles Linsmayer has brought an entire literary era back into public consciousness through collections like "Frühling der Gegenwart" and "Reprinted by Huber," totaling 129 editions. Under the title "The Other Swiss Literature," he presents the highlights of this editorial work once again, featuring text examples, images, and entirely new biographies. Fifty authors, who stood in stark contrast to many of their contemporary descendants, were characterized by an existential, compelling, and indispensable relationship with writing. For them, it was a lived reality when Corinna Bille confessed, "I would have died if I hadn't written," or when Friedrich Glauser was certain: "As long as I can still lyrically expectorate my unconscious, madness does not threaten me.".
