In the publication series of the Literary Colloquium Berlin, LCB Editions, a slim volume of the first works by a young author named Artur Knoff was released in 1968. At the time, the volume remained a poor seller, and the writer Knoff received little attention, despite the fact that these unique stories already brimmed with surreal storytelling flair. The blurb indicated: "The stories of Artur Knoff, born in 1937 in Hirschberg, Silesia, are his first publications." - An author photo was also featured on the cover. However, the photo did not show Artur Knoff, but rather Günter Grass's first wife Anna - disguised as a man, wearing glasses, a hat, a fake mustache, and of course, a pipe. The public and critics noticed nothing of this literary game of hide and seek until "Artur Knoff" was revealed as a pseudonym of Günter Grass in 1980.
