Survey research continues to be one of the most widely used data collection methods in the social sciences, from which knowledge gain and progress in understanding are expected. Although methods have become highly differentiated and modes have diversified today, there is still a lack of foundational research in this area. The present book aims to provide another approach to structuring the fundamental elements of surveys as well as their integration into the process-oriented course of the survey. It particularly focuses on aspects of space, time, and well-being, along with their respective effects. It will likely require even more intensive further research, as well as persuasive efforts, to move survey research from its established and seemingly secure path to new methodological perspectives that allow for a closer approach to notions of truth and reality.
