In circles of artists and connoisseurs, "Die Rixdorfer" and their prints made with discarded lead and wooden type were already well-known 50 years ago. Today, the four Bohemians are a highly vital artistic legend in their own right: just half a century older. Text, typography, and woodcut come together on cleverly provocative sheets, and from the very beginning, collaboration with poets and writers has been at the center. Among the first contributors were Gerhard Rühm and H.C. Artmann. In close proximity to the Anderen Bibliothek at Moritzplatz in Berlin-Kreuzberg, the first bibliophile artworks of the "Rixdorfer" were created with stylistically influential typography. If the folio volumes of the Anderen Bibliothek weren't already sought-after collector's items, they would certainly become so in collaboration with the "Rixdorfer." Many texts by the authors' friends were created in their presence.
