The conciliation bodies at the chambers of commerce and industry for resolving civil law disputes arising from the Act Against Unfair Competition (UWG) lead a shadowy existence. It is easy to be tempted to consider Section 27 a UWG as dead law. The author proves the opposite with his work, while also highlighting the limitations of such bodies' effectiveness. He describes the historical origins of the conciliation procedure, its structure, the procedural process, its systematic position, its application in legal reality, and its empirical significance. Additionally, he presents considerations for improving the procedure. The focus of the work is on the presentation of the procedure from both a legal and factual perspective, with the legal regulation of the procedure being laid out in the form of a commentary oriented around the procedural process.
