Product details
The author of this volume, Alfred Wegener (1880-1930), was a German meteorologist, polar researcher, and geoscientist. His most significant contribution to science is considered to be his theory of continental drift, which was recognized posthumously and has become a fundamental basis for today's model of plate tectonics. During his lifetime, Wegener was primarily known for his achievements in meteorology and as a pioneer of polar research. He describes, among other things, the movements of continental plates, polar wanderings, and discusses their causes and effects. Illustrated with numerous images. Reprint of the original edition from 1920.
