Ling, employed at a sex doll factory in southeastern China, inspects artificial female bodies for manufacturing defects before retreating into her solitude with classic films in the evening. And in old, dark Europe, Ada follows her mathematical obsessions, dreaming of calculations and novel machines, always with the monstrous in mind.
