This book describes and explains for the first time and in a complex manner the sovereign debt crisis of the European Monetary Union. It analyzes the causes leading up to its establishment and the primarily macroeconomic development of the Euro crisis in its internal logic. Based on this, it presents the various instruments of the EU for stabilization and derives the necessary economic, financial, and monetary policy steps to preserve the European Monetary Union. In examining the political and economic development of the European Monetary Union and its current state, pressing questions arise regarding the causes, internal connections, and consequences of the Euro crisis. Answers must be found as to whether and how crises of this magnitude can be prevented in the future and what political, but especially economic measures are required.
