Product details
A clearly explained guide for the production of paints, varnishes, and sealing lacquers from the year 1879. The oldest recorded formula for a lacquer dates back to the 12th century and consisted of linseed oil as a binder and vermilion as a pigment. From the 18th century onwards, the so-called lacquer factories emerged, quickly capturing a market for the coating of various objects. As the term "factory" suggests, the lacquer components were usually mixed together at elevated temperatures at that time. Illustrated with 11 black and white images. Reprint of the original edition from 1879.
