His book on the five senses addresses the question of how it could continue, a question that philosophy has pursued since its beginnings with the Greeks: the relationship between the thinking, knowing, speaking subject and what is immediately given to it through its senses. It engages with its subject in an unexpected way, as it does not discuss Plato and Aristotle, Hume and Kant, but rather: shells and skins, noise and silence, fast food and fine wines, love and the chatter about love; it explores a process in which language has been cleansed of sensuality and sensuality has lost its language.
