Product details
The trend-setting developments at the Faßberg air base for military airport construction repeatedly aroused the interest of the upper military authorities. The Generality was always a guest at the eyrie, not only within the framework of the official supervision. After all, the German Luftwaffe had built one of the largest military airports in Europe in Faßberg in 1936 in the arms fever of the NS regime. Before 1933, the area on which Faßberg was built had probably never been inhabited; rather, untouched heathland with a moderate elevation had spread widely, the "Faßberg", after which the newly formed community was named, had previously not been on record in this way. After the National Socialists seized power on 30 January 1933, a search was made in Germany for suitable locations for new military bases and air bases of the expanding Luftwaffe.
