Since 2011, the Wendekinder, as the last group partially socialized in the GDR who refer to themselves as the Third Generation of East Germany, have been in the public spotlight. This volume presents a transdisciplinary examination of the phenomenon. The research field is mapped out in the dimensions of discourse, types, and positioning(s). Additionally, through the development of an analytical framework, the Rostock Generation Model, an exploration of the question of the "growing together" of the two German states has been achieved. The diversity of contributions highlights an initial insight: the Wendekinder represent a highly diverse generation, which, due to their dual socialization, occupies a balancing triangulating mediator position.
