The strengthening of all organs, particularly those weakened, through a precisely tailored activation of the muscular system for each specific case, is the proven fundamental principle of therapeutic exercise. Since the functions of the lungs and heart also rely on muscles as the essential element of continued activity, the disease states commonly known as "chest complaints" are even more amenable to therapeutic treatment, as a significant portion of these conditions are well-established to be merely the results of neglected activity of these organs in particular and the muscular system in general. Furthermore, since many of those diseases of the lungs and heart originate in other organs, such as poor blood formation and mixing, or congestion of the liver, there is likely no better means to eliminate these causes.
