The author presents for the first time the most important epigraphic data of all written documents from the Reitia sanctuary in Este. She provides an overview of the types of dedicatory offerings with inscriptions, the dedication formulas, the nature of alphabetical exercises, and onomastics. Beyond the linguistic aspects, the inscriptions are also considered in relation to the cults practiced in the sanctuary and their social context. The dedicatory inscriptions include both male and female names, a significant portion of which have a Celtic basis, reflecting the well-documented migration processes in Este that led to the integration of individuals of Celtic origin into the local social structure. A particularly notable aspect is the bronze alphabet plates, for which there is no comparable evidence in Etruria or other areas of ancient Italy. They preserve as bronze reproductions the alphabet tablets used in teaching correct writing and reading. The dedication of writing instruments with precise reproductions of writing exercises and letters as decorations on the votive styluses attests to a cult associated with teaching and learning to write.
