Product details

Baudrillard's reflections on politics, art, and new technologies describe the development towards a seemingly controllable reality and the reversal of this structure against itself - the manifestation of an intelligence of evil. The principle of reality is in the process of disappearing due to a totalization of the world by the good. In its place emerges a virtual reality, an integral reality that appears to be complete, controllable, and without contradiction. However, this fatal logic of excess simultaneously brings forth the repressed Other: the excess of health brings the virus, the excess of security brings new threats, and so on. Herein lies the intelligence of evil, the malignant reversal of the structure against itself. As in "The Spirit of Terrorism," Baudrillard also succeeds in this book in creating a fascinating psychogram of our world order.
