The investment corporation has undergone constant changes in recent years. It was only through the new Investment Amendment Act, enacted at the end of 2007, that the German legislator breathed new life into the dusty framework of the investment corporation (InvAG). With the entry into force of the new Investment Act on December 28, 2007, the legislator created the possibility to use the InvAG for various types of funds that are suitable for trading on a German and intra-European stock exchange. So far, the ETFs approved in Germany have been established with different investment vehicles. A prominent representative of foreign investment vehicles for ETFs traded in Germany is the Luxembourg SICAV. Some ETFs have already been established in the contractual form according to the German Investment Act.
