What happened? Have we just gotten older? Or have we simply stopped being comedians? Or have we become too Swiss, we children of Wyla? A director from Cologne sets out with his wife and their two young sons to emigrate to Switzerland to work as a teacher. Full of enthusiasm, they embark on their journey and arrive in Wyla, a small village in the Emmental. The overly loud "Grüssgott miteinander!" that Glatzenwilli cheerfully shouts upon their arrival immediately makes the newcomers stand out uncomfortably. However, they are not discouraged by the innate reserve of their new Swiss neighbors; they participate in village life, work, expand their family, dig up the contaminated concrete plot of the beekeeper, and renovate his dilapidated house into their "farm palace." The question remains: do they now belong?.
