In his book, Florian Roder describes three steps on the path to the art of the soul: ease, inner calm, and reverence. These are three representative qualities of the soul chosen from the vibrant abundance. Their cultivation leads to enhanced inner growth and the creative shaping of one's own life. In every art form, a person transforms existing or broken materials in such a way that they reveal something new: color becomes an image, stone becomes a sculpture, clay becomes music. This evokes feelings and creates meaning: in the new order brought forth by art, we feel embraced and secure as human beings, inspired and propelled forward. A person can also engage creatively with their own soul as an artist. What otherwise occurs in the soul as a rather chaotic mix of impulses, feelings, and actions can be grasped with awareness.
