Ground beetles inhabit nearly all terrestrial habitats. They are one of the most species-rich families of beetles in the world, with over 560 species represented in Germany and 429 species in Baden-Württemberg. This work presents all species of Baden-Württemberg with photos and distribution maps. It focuses on natural distribution, habitat requirements, threats, and necessary conservation measures. Numerous photos also showcase typical habitats. The work is based on a very large data set collected over several decades. The book highlights priorities for conservation and development measures, making it an important resource for nature conservation and landscape planning.
