Under the mill wheel in the waters of the Löbau, two female corpses are recovered in quick succession. While the residents assume it is a tragic accident and pay no further attention to the two incidents, the traveling journeyman Jakub does not believe in coincidence. Together with the maid Mathilde and Dr. Cornelius Waldeck, he tries to bring light to the darkness. But time is running out, as the next woman could soon be found in the waters of the Löbau.
