Tungdil, the famous hero of the "Dwarves" series, returns and plunges the Albae into a new adventure: Outside the Protected Land lies a forgotten realm. Here, the survivors of the mysterious plague have retreated under the leadership of Caphalor's friend Aïsolon. Cut off by a three-hundred-step-high protective wall, they await the call to return to their people in the Protected Land. Meanwhile, the triplets Sisaroth, Tirîgon, and Firûsha are accused of murder and banished to an underground place full of horrors. There, Sisaroth encounters a dwarf: Tungdil, who has been trapped in the Black Gorge! This meeting changes the fate of the Albae and the Dwarves forever.
