With a motorized bicycle, NSU rattled into the 20th century. Even before World War II, it was one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers, later rising to become the global number one in 1955 with models like Quickly, Fox, and Max. NSU was also groundbreaking with its cars, first with the small car type Prinz, and eventually with the legendary Wankel, the Ro 80.
