The postal sector has been undergoing profound reorganization processes since the 1980s. Above all, the European Commission is striving to accelerate this competition-oriented transformation. Based on recent approaches in political economy, Kathrin Drews analyzes the reorganization of the German and British postal sectors as a multi-level process, in which actors at both the national and transnational levels attempt to navigate the terrain of a Europeanized postal sector. Supported by numerous interviews with political actors, it becomes clear that the reorganization processes do not unfold as the national capitalism models would suggest.
