Much has been discussed about the relationship between Martin Heidegger and his philosophy with National Socialism. The present book by Pierre Bourdieu contributes to this debate—not by demonstrating external philosophical connections between NS politics and the actions of this philosopher. Rather, Bourdieu aims to reconstruct both the various versions of the worldview of the "conservative revolutionaries" and the intellectual and social logic of the philosophical field in which the transformation of the nationalistic sentiment into existential philosophy takes place. Only then can one understand and evaluate Martin Heidegger's political ontology.
