Product details
The doctor, theologian, philosopher, and musician Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965) worked as an assistant preacher and later as a private lecturer in theology in Strasbourg since 1899. In 1913, after completing his medical studies, he left his position in Strasbourg to work as a missionary doctor at the tropical hospital he founded in Lambarene in French Congo. Schweitzer financed this hospital not only through his writing but also through organ concerts. He was a co-editor of Bach's organ works and is regarded as a reformer of organ building. His theological research focused on the significance of the Eucharist and the study of the life of Jesus.
