Women’s quotas seem to be ubiquitous in Germany: in business and administration, in science, politics, and media, as well as in the judiciary, police, and armed forces. They are part of equality policy and the underlying ideology. With increasing momentum, structures are being established to cement a new gender order in society. The far-reaching consequences for the relationship between women and men have so far been discussed primarily at a journalistic level and more emotionally than scientifically. "The Quota Trap" addresses the fundamental issues of quotas and the politics behind them, as well as the effects of quota policies in various fields. The focus is on business and science.
