The research on glasswings, which resemble wasps, has recently gained significant momentum through the use of artificial sex pheromones. Most of the long-known, brightly colored tiger moths, with the exception of the lichen moths, are, however, highly endangered or already extinct. The study of these spinner-like moths concludes with both groups. The subsequent group being studied, the owlets, forms the most diverse family of butterflies, with around 25,000 species worldwide.
