Product details

Victims can become perpetrators themselves, as they often can no longer adequately perceive, protect, or defend their own boundaries. This applies not only to sexual assaults but also to discrimination, stigmatization, or the application of structural violence against individuals. Helplessness arises, which can lead to powerlessness, anger, or the urge to destroy objects or people.

The contributors examine the relationships between victims and perpetrators from eco-social and therapeutic perspectives. The perspective of those affected is also integrated through the account of a patient who was a victim herself. It encourages reflection on one's own status as a "victim" or "perpetrator," deepening the engagement with the topic of trauma and society, as well as designing a new culture of values in psychotherapy.

With contributions from Marie-Luise Althoff, Mathias Becker, Angelika Eibach-Bialas, Bärbel Heise, Jochen Kehr, Rebecca Kitzmann, Jennifer Mioc, Wiebke Pape, Franz Resch, Ulrich Sachsse, Beate Schneider, Sabine Trautmann-Voigt, Beatrix Vill, Ralf Vogt, and Bernd Voigt.
