The deficiencies in waste disposal are causing the ecological legacies of tomorrow. Waste management is the flip side of our production and distribution economy. Since waste disposal initially only represents a financial burden for the waste producer in the short term, it is tempting for some to dispose of these materials cheaply but illegally, as evidenced by the sharply increased number of investigations in recent years regarding the offense of environmentally hazardous waste disposal. On the other hand, there is a growing call for criminal law to address ecological dangers. This work examines the criminal liability associated with the offense of environmentally hazardous waste disposal.
