Product details

Net worth is much more unevenly distributed than net income. In recent years, the inequality of wealth distribution has increased even further. This is evidenced by the two wealth surveys of the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) from 2002 and 2007, on the basis of which the authors present a series of innovative analyses regarding wealth distribution in this volume. They address, among other things, the - surprisingly not very stringent - correlation between net income and net worth, the long-term development of the total wealth of the household sector with the ups and downs in the wealth hierarchy, as well as wealth distribution according to education level, occupational status, and migration background. By also capturing the legal owners, the study provides insight into gender-specific wealth conditions.
