The World of Islam, Countries and People from Morocco to Persia - a photo book featuring around 200 selected, some unpublished, photos of landscapes, cities, ethnic types, and scenes of daily life. The most important textual foundation of Islam is the Quran, which is considered the word of God revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. The second foundation consists of the reports (Hadith) about the behavior (Sunna) of Muhammad, who serves as a role model for all Muslims as the "Messenger of God." The norms derived from these texts are collectively referred to as Sharia. The term Islam appears eight times in the Quran. In several places, it is emphasized that the acceptance of Islam is a sign of divine election. This occurs when God wishes to guide the individual and expands their heart.
