The weekly newspaper "Junge Freiheit" is regarded as the central publication of the New Right in Germany, a movement that, under the guise of conservatism, serves as a bridge between right-wing extremism and the democratic spectrum. For years, it was included in reports by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. In response, "Junge Freiheit" filed a lawsuit with the Federal Constitutional Court and subsequently reached a legal settlement. Since then, its inclusion in reports by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution has been legally complicated. However, "Junge Freiheit" remains under observation by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. The publishers and authors illuminate the content, individuals, and clientele of "Junge Freiheit," as well as their legal strategy, and call for increased engagement with this publication and the New Right at both political and academic levels.
