Flex and Flora 2 offers four competency-oriented workbooks, each dedicated to a specific area: writing correctly, examining language, writing texts, and reading. The workbooks do not prescribe subject matter. They can be linked together or used independently. The four workbooks are designed to be completed at the student's own pace. The individual learning process of the children is prioritized, and open teaching methods are supported. Within each workbook, the sequence of units is a suggestion that can be modified, as each unit covers a self-contained topic. Each unit begins with an introductory page and a problem-oriented introductory image, which can be explored through learning discussions in a group or in small groups, as well as independently by advanced students. The introductory images facilitate discovery-based learning.
