Notting Hill Gate Student Book 1

The new Notting Hill Gate begins with a revised and expanded Welcome section, which initially serves to appreciate what students bring from primary school. They have the opportunity to experience what they already know in the foreign language, and their perception of having some knowledge is reinforced. It also provides opportunities for assessment and support. Each sequence in every topic of the textbook starts with a Primary pick-up, a primary school review page or exercise. This connects thematically and methodologically to knowledge from primary school, and a clear thematic progression is evident. Picture puzzles and task types such as "Show me ..." or "Listen and point" activate individual prior knowledge and create a cooperative learning atmosphere. Many open-ended tasks are included.
